water flowing beneath a little bridge Description
The Little Bridge and Flowing Water is selected from "Autumn Thoughts on Tian Jing Sha", which is a famous prose work created by Yuan Dynasty composer Ma Zhiyuan. This song juxtaposes various scenery and combines them into a painting of autumn sunset in the suburbs, allowing a wanderer from afar to ride a thin horse on a desolate background, revealing a melancholic atmosphere. It expresses the sorrowful feelings of a wanderer who misses his hometown and is tired of drifting in autumn. This Xiaoling has a unique syntax, with the first three sentences consisting entirely of noun phrases, listing a total of nine types of scenery, concise yet meaningful. The entire piece consists of only five sentences and twenty-eight words, with extremely concise language but huge capacity, profound meaning, exquisite structure, and rhythmic movements. It is praised by later generations as the "ancestor of autumn thoughts".
